Rimmel London mascara sticks my eyelashes together but does not lengthen them

I bought Rimmel London brand mascara. I have a hard time applying mascara, my eyelashes always stick together and I can barely control them. It doesn't act as a lengthening feature, it doesn't make my eyelashes look longer, all it does is stick them together. I really regret buying it.
